The default switch is the lowest one, which makes the train go back in forth in the turntable. The middle switch will make the train disappear to the lowest of the platforms and circle there, where two rotating spikes are as well. The third switch is the highest one, which will make the train go around the circle tracks directly below it.

Template:SA2Level Pumpkin Hill is the sixth stage in the Hero storyline of Sonic Adventure 2 and the second playable as Knuckles. As it is a hunting stage, the goal, as with Sonic Adventure, is to find the three shards of the Master Emerald hidden in that level.

Appearance

Pumpkin Hill is a Halloween themed level, with ghosts, ghost trains, and more Pumpkins than the Green Goblin can shake a batglider at. It is a whimsical stage that includes some elements from Mushroom Hill Zone and various "spooky levels" from platformer games. The theme music to the level is A Ghost's Pumpkin Soup.

The major gimmicks of this level are the ghosts that make their first appearance in the game, a train that change its trajectory due to switches and rockets that provide a quick way to travel from section to section. Although the level is set above a bottomless pit, Knuckles won’t die if he falls, instead floating atop an updraft. Other level specific objects are pumpkins in all shapes and sizes that jiggle if punched, small houses and metal containers that can be destroyed, stone graves, tree stumps with scary faces on them, chimneys and scarecrows.

Level Sections

The level is divided into three major sections.

Knuckles will start the level in a small platform, with the Shovel Claw upgrade in a platform in his front. To the left of this platform a rocket will take him to “Church Mountain”, to the right a rocket will take him to “Ghost Train Mountain” and going all the way backwards from where Knuckles came, a rocket surrounded by pumpkins will take him to “Pumpkin Mountain”.

The first section, “Church Mountain”, is a steep hill with a medium sized platform at the bottom, short ledges all the way up and a train circling the mountain in the air halfway up. At the top stands a graveyard with a chapel to the side as well, along with a rocket that will lead to “Pumpkin Mountain”. The second section, “Ghost Train Mountain” is the lowest of the three hill yet the one with the most gimmicks as well, with a train that switches locations. The main part of this section is composed of a central platform, called “Ghost Train Turntable”, where the train always starts before switching locations. There are three switches and therefore, three locations and movements the train can have. The default switch is the lowest one, which makes the train go back in forth in the turntable. The middle switch will make the train disappear to the lowest of the platforms and circle there, where two rotating spikes are as well. The third switch is the highest one, which will make the train go around the circle tracks directly below it.

The third section, “Pumpkin Mountain” is the highest hill, with close to nothing towards the bottom. Halfway up the mountain, there’s another train circling in the air, and right at the top is a round platform with another one raised at the middle, which is called Pumpkin Field.

Other Versions

Shadow's Sky Rail stage shares a setting with Pumpkin Hill, including Church Mountain and Pumpkin Mountain. Unlike Pumpkin Hill, which takes place at sunset, Sky Rail takes place during the day.

From the beginning, go straight ahead to the platform in front of Knuckles. From here, go to the platform to the right and take the rocket up onto Ghost Train Mountain. Once on top, jump down to the train going back and forth down below. Turn back to find the tracks leading back to the mountain. A blocked-off tunnel is visible. Behind the bars is Big.
