Professor Von Schlemmer is a character who appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog TV series. He is a brilliant, but ecentric and kooky scientist that invents a myriad of things, and is an invaluable ally to Sonic and Tails. He is voiced by French Tickner.

Appearances

Von Schlemmer makes his debut in Too Tall Tails, where Dr. Robotnik had captured him to force him to tell how to create his Gizmo Gas machine. When the machine makes Tails huge, Sonic seeks out Von Schlemmer's help in restoring Tails to normal size before he devours all of Wienerville.

In Boogey-Mania, the invention of the Dream-A-Majig gets the attention of Dr. Robotnik and he has him taken hostage. The professor refuses to turn his dream-a-majig into a nightmare machine. He cooperates after Tails is taken into custody and put in a cell. After he finishes the machine he is put in the same cell as Tails but released by Sonic. To get help in capturing Robotnik's nightmare monster, the Boogey Man, he invents the dream-kadoodle. It can put people in dreams. After they return from Dream World with a plan, Von Schlemmer shows off his new invention, the Porta-Dream-A-Majig. This leads to a monster which successfully battles the Boogey Man and scares him back into Robotnik's head.

Von Schlemmer appears again in Tails Prevails, where Sonic asks him to hire Tails as his assistant after the fox makes him an interesting birthday gift, but then Robotnik captures and impersonates the good scientist to get Tails to build his latest anti-Sonic weapon.

In Super Robotnik, Sonic goes to Von Schlemmer to help him prepare for the upcoming gladiator battle with Super Robotnik. When Tails figures out the supervillain's Achilles' Heel, Von Schlemmer creates a powder that will penetrate Robotnik's weak spot and slowly neutralize his powers, placing it on a cushion which Sonic sells to Robotnik.

Finally, in Tails' Tale, Tails takes William Le Due, famous pilot, to Von Schlemmer so the scientist can help the two find Sonic using a Sonic Sonar, eventually tracking the hedgehog's whereabouts in King Kommamachs's temple.

Archie Comics

In the Post-Super Genesis Wave continuity of the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comics, Professor Von Schlemmer appears in The Silver Age, a story arc in Sonic Universe, as an invaluable ally to Silver the Hedgehog in his future. He has been researching the Genesis Portals, and having been impressed by Silver's telekinetic abilities, the scientist asks the hedgehog for his help on closing the Genesis Portals.
