The Power LaserMedia:SA2B GC US manual.pdf (パワーレーザーMedia:SonicAdventure2 DC JP manual.pdf) is a special attack used by the mech-shooting characters in Sonic Adventure 2 and its re-releases.

Overview

The Power Laser can be used in the 2P Battle mode when a player has collected at least 60 Rings (45 when playing as the Chao Walker, and every 20 Rings if Dr. Eggman uses his alternate costume). The player can then press to deploy the attack, firing a giant multi-coloured laser from the front of their character's mech for a few seconds. This incredibly powerful laser can deal heavy damage to the opponent, however the user's mobility will be severely limited for the duration of the attack as they will be rooted in place and will turn slowly, leaving them vulnerable to being attacked if they miss.

The Chao Walker's version of the move is called the Zap LaserMedia:SA2B GC US manual.pdf and is slightly thicker than with other characters, and the Dark Chao Walker's version is called the Dark FinishMedia:SA2B GC US manual.pdf and is slightly thinner in addition to being coloured blue and white.

Tails and Dr. Eggman will also use the Power Laser in their second boss battle against each other in Story mode. In this case, the opposing character will start using it when his health has dropped below half. The player must move fast and get out of the way before it fires, as getting caught in the attack will take away large amounts of health.
