Penguin Bombers (ペンギンボマーズ)[1] are a variety of Badnik created by Dr. Eggman, encountered by Sonic or Tails Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble.
Overview
Penguin Bombers are robotic suicide bombers that waddle around the frigid slopes of Robotnik Winter Zone, forming explosive slalom obstacles for Sonic and Tails. When the hedgehog isn't riding a snowboard, or when Tails encounters them, the penguins can be dispatched with a standard Spin Attack. In Act 3, the source of these Badniks is found to be the boss of Robotnik Winter: Giga Thomas "Pen", who spits them out from its mouth.
Like other robots in 8-bit Sonic games, no animal friends pop out of Penguin Bombers when they are destroyed. Whether these Badniks canonically don't contain organic batteries, or the escaping critters simply aren't shown due to programming limitations, is not known.
