Pata-Bata

Pata-Bata (パタバタ) is a badnik found both in Sonic CD and in Knuckles' Chaotix. Between the two games Eggman seems to have upgraded the model from butterfly-wings to twin rotary engines. It is also known as the Hoverby Mk II in the US Knuckles Chaotix Manual.

Template:Enemy1 Template:Enemy1 In Sonic CD the robots fly around in a zig-zag pattern, so be careful not to hit them on the way up from a spring, when Sonic is vulnerable. When broken down due to age, they fly slower and have a noticeable hole in their wings.

In Knuckles' Chaotix, Pata-batas simply hover around in Speed Slider. As before they lack any actual weapons and so are mostly harmless; just take them out with a spin jump.

Manual Description

The Robot Butterfly flutters up and down through the air spying on enemies.
