There are two types of Newtrons (called "Meleon" in the Japanese manual), and they both appear in walls. One type stays still and shoots a bomb at you, though eventually disappearing, while the other drops to the ground and slowly follows Sonic. Both are not very tough to get past. This enemy is found in Green Hill Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis) and Jungle Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog (Game Gear).
