Nega-Wisp Armor
Game: Sonic Colours (Nintendo DS)
Level: Terminal Velocity
For the fifth boss in the Wii version and Sonic Colours: Ultimate, see Nega-Wisp Armor.

The Nega-Wisp Armor is the seventh and regular final boss of the Nintendo DS version of Sonic Colours, and Dr. Eggman's final machine. It resembles a large Nega-Wisp, and runs off of the Wisps' Hyper-go-on energy.

In this version of the game, the Nega-Wisp Armor pursues Sonic throughout the only Act in the game's final Area, Terminal Velocity. After running far enough down the station, the game will transition the player to the proper boss fight.

Strategy

Rather than taking place a strip of road like the console version of the fight, this battle has Sonic stand on a falling piece of debris serving as the arena. Much like the console version, the Nega-Wisp Armor is capable of utilising attacks are based on the Color Powers from certain Wisps.

The Color Powers used by the machine in this version are as follows:

  • Red Burst - The machine fires many purple fire blasts on the stage.
  • Orange Rocket - The machine shoots multiple rockets from under the floor at Sonic.
  • Yellow Drill - The machine turns its tail into a drill and swings it onto the arena.
  • Cyan Laser - The machine's tail shoots multiple laser blasts at Sonic.
  • Violet Void - The machine's tail tries to suck Sonic in, while the front tries to blast him.

After every attack, there is a short chance to attack the boss, though it varies when with each attack, so the player should watch for the right moment to strike. Regular attacks will award White Wisps to build up Boost energy, which the player can then use for a more powerful attack. After Sonic hits the machine enough times on each attack, Sonic gains the Wisp from that attack. Once he grabs all five, the Nega-Wisp Armor begins to charge a point-blank laser blast. The 5 Wisps from the game give Sonic their power, and Sonic uses their power to combat the laser (by quickly hitting Y) and finally destroy the machine.
