Mushmeanie[1], called Hidden (ヒドゥン) in the Japanese manual[2], is a mushroom Badnik from Sonic & Knuckles found in Mushroom Hill Zone. They are springy bots covered with mushroom caps that will hide among regular mushrooms, then begin bouncing around when approached. Jump on them once to knock their headgear away to make them vulnerable to attack.
Mushmeanies return in the 3DS version of Sonic Generations, found in Mushroom Hill again with the same attack pattern, though they are more determined in pursuing their target. They are defeated in the same way, but in Modern Sonic's case they can be boosted into, instantly destroying them regardless of their caps.
Mushmeanies also return in the Wii U/PC version of Sonic Lost World where they can be found in Silent Forest Zone 1, 2 and Sky Road Zone ?, retaining their attack patterns and means of protection from previous appearances. However, in this game, their caps can only be removed with the Flying Kick.
