Overview

Reminiscent of Coconuts from Sonic 2, this Badnik simply throws coconuts into the air, and the player must avoid them. They can be easily destroyed by jumping. The difference between Monkey Dude and Coconuts, despite appearance, is that Monkey Dude only throws one coconut and then is empty-handed, whereas Coconuts has an unending supply of coconuts to throw at the player.

Monkey Dude returns in the Encore Mode of Sonic Mania Plus, found in Angel Island Zone with the same attack pattern. Dr. Eggman also uses one to spy on Knuckles in Sonic Mania Adventures.
