The Mole[1] is an enemy Badnik created by Dr. Eggman that appears in both versions of Sonic Colours.

Overview

Based on previous mole-like robots like the Burrobot and Grounder, Moles are outfitted with a drill nose and a pair of tank treads for hind legs, though they are also outfitted with sharp claws for digging, goggles for eyes and Eggman's trademark grin. Two models of this Badnik have been produced: a smaller model with a pink paint job and red eyes, and a larger model with a blue paint job and cyan eyes.

In the Wii version of Sonic Colours, Moles are encountered in the soil sections of Tropical Resort Acts 1-4, Sweet Mountain Act 2 and several Game Land Acts. When the player burrows underground with the Yellow Drill, groups of Moles will appear to chase after them from lateral directions, with the smaller pink models being more common than the larger blue ones, but they can easily be destroyed by ramming into them. If a Mole comes out of the ground in its pursuit, it will twitch and then explode.

In the Nintendo DS version, small blue models appear in the soil sections of Planet Wisp, where they have a simple attack pattern and burrowing back and forth with the drills on their noses. The player can take damage and lose their Rings from being hit by their attacks, but the Yellow Drill will protect them from dying.
