Megatox is a character who appears in Fleetway's Sonic the Comic series. He is a minor villain who is composed entirely of Mega Mack.

History

Megatox was once a scientist working with Dr. Robotnik to invent the Mega Mack with the purpose of killing Sonic, until one day the containment he was working in was flooded with the deadly substance. By some chance of fate, the scientist was not killed, but instead became one with the Mega Mack, and thus he was reborn as Megatox.

With his deadly new form, Megatox haunted the sewer systems of the Chemical Plant Zone, and had an encounter with Sonic early into the hedgehog's rebellion against Robotnik's rule in issue #10. As he could reform himself, Sonic could not harm Megatox with any of his attacks, but instead drains him into a hole and sprays him across the countryside.

Megatox makes a return much later in issue #114, after Dr. Robotnik was overthrown and the Chemical Plant Zone was purchased by the Marxio Brothers. A malfunction was detected in the Mega Mack Factory that would make the Zone explode at any minute, so Sonic and Tails were called to investigate it, discovering it was caused by Megatox, who was charging himself up with electrical energy with the intention of breaking out, flooding the Emerald River and poisoning the Emerald Hill Zone so badly it would become uninhabitable for a hundred years. Charging himself with energy has made him powerful enough to assume a solid form and revert back to liquid form at will, which he can use to get his revenge on Sonic. Although the hedgehog was badly poisoned, he was able to attack Megatox by striking him while solid, defeating him and leaving him to be swept up by the Marxio Brothers.

Megatox briefly returns in issue #130, where Dr. Robotnik, after having absorbed the power of the Chaos Emeralds, has gained the ability to alter reality. Megatox is brought back to life to fight Sonic, alongside the original Metallix, Plasma, Commander Brutus and Metamorphia. They are all destroyed when Sonic knocks Brutus into Plasma, causing everything to explode.
