Lightning Master
Game: Sonic Unleashed
Affiliation: Dark Gaia
Hits to defeat: 50 health units (PS2/Wii)
Points: 120 Dark Gaia Force (PS2/Wii)

The Lightning Master (ライトニングマスター) is one of Dark Gaia's minions that appears in the night stages of Sonic Unleashed.

Overview

This enemy is very similar to the Dark Master, except it has a greenish tint to it. As the name implies, instead of the magic that the Dark Master uses as a method of attack, the Lightning Master shoots electricity at the player, momentarily paralyzing the player as well as inflicting damage. If approached, they will also attack the player by swinging their staff like a club or by hammering it down on them. They almost always appear in the company of other enemies, but will rarely show up in pairs of themselves.

Being in control of lightning, these enemies are weak to water. If the player picks up a water barrel and throws it at them, they will short-circuit and destroy themselves.

Moves (PS2/Wii)

• Lightning Shot: -12 rings/health + stun
• Teleport (defensive)

Quotes

Monsters born of Dark Gaia with exceptionally high intelligence can take on a humanoid appearance like these fiends.

While their control of lightning makes these mages a threat from afar, they resort to clumsily waving their staffs around when cornered.

— Encyclopedia, 360/PS3 version

These wizards are easily recognized by their pointy green hats.
