Fireworm[1], called Mamba (マンバー) in the Japanese manual[2], is a worm-like Badnik from Sonic & Knuckles found flying around in Lava Reef Zone. They will come out of holes in the cavern walls when the player approaches, then slowly fly back and forth, shooting fire from their bodies. They can be simply destroyed with a jump to the head, but watch the spikes underneath!
They return with the same attack pattern in Sonic Mania, found in Lava Reef Zone again.
