Final Haunt takes place on the Black Comet's surface.

Shadow and Sonic apparently used Tails' shuttle to fly across, where It's time for a showdown on the Arms' home turf. Sonic wants Shadow to help him find Black Doom at the core of the comet; the two hedgehogs follow his giant holographic broadcasts to hunt the alien prophet down. Doom's Eye, however, appears near a shield generating device and asks Shadow to fulfil a different mission - activate all four shields to secure the Comet against G.U.N.'s counterattack.

Gameplay

The center of the infamous Black Comet is crawling with Black Warriors, Black Oaks, Black Assassins, and Black Volts. There are no G.U.N. robots this close to Doom's sanctum, as there were in Black Comet. Final Haunt has a color scheme that ranges from red to shades of purple, with some blue here and there. Other features are Shield Generators, that turn on both outer shields and to block paths on the surface and inner ones to guard the core. There are also blue 'light poles' that can be broken and utilized as melee weapons.
