End of the World is the final level in the 2006 game Sonic the Hedgehog. The stage is a jumble of seven of the previous stages, each part containing one of the seven Chaos Emeralds. The player will control seven different characters individually to regain the emeralds to save the late Sonic's soul after being killed by Mephiles in a sneak attack. Each character plays through one part of the stage for a single Chaos Emerald.
The composition of the stage is as follows:
- Stage: Crisis City; Character: Tails; Emerald Color: Yellow;
- Stage: Flame Core; Character: Omega; Emerald Color: Green;
- Stage: Tropical Jungle; Character: Knuckles; Emerald Color: Light/Sky Blue
- Stage: Dusty Desert; Character: Silver; Emerald Color: White
- Stage: Wave Ocean; Character: Rouge; Emerald Color: Purple
- Stage: White Acropolis; Character: Amy; Emerald Color: Blue
- Stage: Kingdom Valley; Character: Shadow; Emerald Color: Red
The stages Radical Train and Aquatic Base are not shown at all or even mentioned at this point in the game. Successfully completing this level takes the player to the final boss, Solaris.
