The boss of Wacky Workbench Zone is the fifth in Sonic CD. As with most of Robotnik's boss machines in this game, the Wacky Workbench fight is heavily tailored to the battle arena. In this case, the confrontation takes place on multiple levels of the Workbench's springy platforms, with Robotnik flying a spike-capped rocket ship which drills its way up through the stage.
The Doctor's vessel blasts through the roof, dislodging blocks which Sonic has to dodge to avoid crushing. The springy platform then electrifies, blasting the blocks up into the air; the hedgehog must hop between the platfoms as they ascend, enabling him to climb to the next level in pursuit of Robotnik. Eventually, the top level sees the fat man's ship embedded in the roof; a spin attack will dislodge him and beat the boss.
