This nameless Electric Egg Zone badnik, created by Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, is a robotic foe encountered by Sonic and Tails in Electric Egg Zone during Sonic Chaos. Functionally identical to the Bomb enemy in Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit) and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit), this waddling black mine waits for Sonic to approach before detonating in a shower of energy balls. The only thing the hedgehog can do is dodge out of the way of the blast.
This robot, along with the similar Bomb enemies, do not seem to contain an animal friend as an organic battery - or if they do, there's the rather unfortunate implication that the critter is terminated by the robot's suicidal explosion.
