Deep Nightmares are Dark Gaia minions encountered by Sonic the Werehog as enemies in the night stages of Sonic Unleashed. Amongst the least strange of Dark Gaia's monsters, these blue-black humanoid enemies have thick forearms and spiked backs, which nevertheless lend them a bizarre, otherworldly appearence. Deep Nightmares can appear in puffs of supernatural smoke, and are usually found spearheading a group of their lesser cousins, the standard Nightmares.
