Cryptic Castle is a haunted castle in Shadow the Hedgehog. Although it is inhabited by supernatural entities, and parts have been overtaken by Black Arms forces, the fortress seems to be under the effective control of Dr. Eggman. Eggman's access point to digital mainframes (including his own and that of the United Federation) seems to be on or near the castle grounds.
Purpose
After assisting Black Doom in shutting down the United Federation's mainframe or activating the Glyphic Canyon, Shadow goes to Cryptic Castle. Shadow plans to chase down Dr. Eggman, but there are other things to do! Enemies are standard Black Warriors, Black Wings, Black Hawks and Egg Pawns. New gimmicks are breakable doors, ghosts, hot-air balloons, the ability to ride on a Black Hawk, and the ability to ride air currents upwards.
Missions
- Hero: Amy Rose: Rescue Cream the Rabbit and Cheese the Chao.
- Neutral: Get to the top of the tower.
- Dark: Dr. Eggman: Activate Cryptic Castle's defenses by lighting the lanterns.
Trivia
- This stage is interesting in the fact that it is considered an evil act to destroy Eggman's robots even though he is on the Dark side of the mission.
