Chaos Control is an ability that allows the user to alter time and space. It can be used to teleport, to slow down or stop time, to travel through time, and to jump across dimensions. Chaos Control also powers many energy based attacks, such as Chaos Spear, Chaos Blast, and all of Shadow the Hedgehog's techniques in Sonic Battle. A Chaos Emerald is necessary to induce Chaos Control.
Four people have the ability to use Chaos Control. Shadow the Hedgehog was the first to use the ability, and it has since become his signature technique. Sonic can also use Chaos Control, first inducing it with a fake Chaos Emerald to save his life, although he uses it more reluctantly and only uses it when it is necessary. In Shadow the Hedgehog, Shadow can use the Chaos Control when he builds up his "hero" meter (by destroying alien enemies as opposed to earthling ones). However, it appears that Chaos Control has changed from manipulating time to transporting Shadow between areas (although this might be an illusion caused by Chaos Control).
