ButterdroidMedia:S&K MD US SonicJam manual.pdf, called Tefu-tefu (テフテフ) in the Japanese manualMedia:S&K MD JP SonicJam manual.pdf, is a butterfly-like Badnik from Sonic & Knuckles found flying around in Mushroom Hill Zone. Usually appearing in pairs, they slowly fly back and forth, and proceed to attack the player when approached. They can be simply destroyed with a jump.

Butterdroids return in the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations. This Badnik is found again in Mushroom Hill with the same functions and method to destroy.

Butterdroids also appear in the Wii U/PC version of Sonic Lost World where they can be found in Desert Ruins Zone 2. At certain points in the level where Sonic skydives, he must avoid multiple groups of six of these Badniks flying in circles as he cannot attack while skydiving. They have been redesigned with blue wings and orange highlights, two holes in each wing, and a silver metallic body with a visible abdomen.
