Belle the Tinkerer is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by IDW Publishing. She is a wooden robot created by Dr. Eggman while he was going by the name "Mr. Tinker".
Character conception
Belle was created by Evan Stanley, she was pitched along with her rough character arc and design.[1] Her design isn't based on any particular animal, but when Evan was creating her she was "kind of riffing off of the idea of a huldra",[2]primarily with her tail.[3]
