In the run-up to the release of Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast, Sega artist Yuji Uekawa produced a large number of artworks which were used in promotional material and instruction manuals, as well as being distributed to the gaming media. The art was drawn in a new and different style from previous games, in particular using black outlines and more humanoid proportions for all characters.

Character art

Sonic the Hedgehog

Miles "Tails" Prower

Knuckles the Echidna

Amy Rose

Dr. Eggman

Big the Cat

E-102 Gamma

Chao

Wallpaper

Before the official unveiling of Sonic Adventure, Sonic Team released wallpaper meant to tease the relaunching of the franchise, a silhouetted image of Sonic's face with only his eyes and a grin showing. In addition, nine different wallpapers were included on the GD-Rom, viewable when placing the disc in a computer drive. With the exception of the Chao one, all of the others are based upon an already existing character model.

Other wallpapers released on official websites.

Promotional artwork

Various artwork intended for promoting the game. The first three were found on a .zip disk intended to be sent to the press, which would appear across publications and merchandise.
