'''''Sonic the Hedgehog''''' (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ) is a 2006 video game released for the [[Xbox 360]] and [[PlayStation 3]]. A [[Wii]] version was planned but reworked into ''[[Sonic and the Secret Rings]]''. It was developed by [[Sonic Team]] and released to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' franchise.

The game shares its name with two earlier video games, a manga, a television series, a comic book series and, of course, the character of [[Sonic the Hedgehog]] himself. To disambiguate, the game is frequently referred to as ''Sonic the Hedgehog 2006'', ''Sonic 2006'' or ''Sonic '06''. ''Sonic 360'' (despite not being exclusive to the Xbox 360) and ''Sonic Next-Gen'' were also common names when the game debuted, but have since fallen out of use.

''Sonic '06'' was the first ''Sonic'' game to be released in what is now considered the seventh generation of video game consoles. It builds on ideas first floated in ''[[Sonic Adventure]]'' and ''[[Sonic Adventure 2]]'' and, to a lesser extent, ''[[Sonic Heroes]]'' and ''[[Shadow the Hedgehog (game)|Shadow the Hedgehog]]''. Many of the characters were subtly redesigned (save for [[Dr. Eggman]], whose appearance is far more drastic), and settings were made more realistic presumably to take advantage of the hardware.

''Sonic '06'' remains a controversial release in the franchise and was the subject of extremely negative review scores on release. It is widely considered one of the worst ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' games in the franchise, followed closely by 2014's ''[[Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric]]''.

==Story==

==Gameplay==
The objective of the game is to complete all of the levels and ultimately fight a boss in one of the final levels, which is unique to each character. Ultimately, all characters face off with [[Solaris]], the Sun God of Soleanna, in the Last Story segment.

Each character has moves or attributes which make them unique to one another, such as Sonic's ability to perform the [[Bounce Attack|bounce attack]].

===Single player===
[[File:SonicEliseKiss.png|thumb|right|Infamous Sonic/Elise kiss.]]
Although each character plays the same levels, each character's unique abilities allow him or her to get to different areas of each stage, or deny them accessing to certain areas and items.

Gameplay is broken up into two types of stage, similar to ''Sonic Adventure''. '''Action Stages''' are where the bulk of the gameplay takes place, whereas '''Town Stages''' are free-roaming locations where the player can talk to non-playable characters and explore, as in ''[[Sonic Adventure]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Sonic Adventure#Adventure Fields|Adventure Fields]]. For each of the action stages in the respective stories, gold medals are obtainable by achieving high ranks in these stages.

There are a total of eleven stages. A ranking system exists for each of the levels and town missions, providing ranks calculated from score, [[Ring]]s, and time remaining. The highest rank is S Rank, followed by A Rank, down to the lowest, D Rank. Gold medals can be obtained by achieving high ranks in these stages.

===Multiplayer===
''Sonic the Hedgehog'' features two styles of multiplayer gameplay, which allow two players to either cooperate or compete.

The first mode, '''Tag Mode''', is a co-op type of play between Sonic, Silver and Shadow. Two players, each one controlling a different character, must work together to clear levels and collect [[Chaos Emeralds]]. In this mode, lives are shared. The second multi-player game mode available is '''Battle Mode'''. Battle mode pits two players against each other and has them race to a goal in the selected level.

Before release, it was rumoured that the game would contain mini-games that would allow up to four players to play simultaneously/alternately (Quiz, Race and a few others). However, these do not exist in the released version of the game.[http://www.sega.com/gamesite/sonicnext/sonicnext_full/index.php] There are no online multiplayer capabilities, even though the back of the game case describes the game as online capable. The only use for the mentioned online capability is the game's downloadable content.

===Characters===
There are three fully playable characters, who are progressively unlocked by playing each character's story in the game. Only Sonic is available initially; Shadow and Silver must be unlocked.

In addition, the player may control partners for some sections of a level, thus aiding Sonic with their unique abilities.

* '''[[Sonic the Hedgehog]]''': Sonic's mission is to go to Soleanna to rescue [[Princess Elise]] and prevent Doctor Eggman from unleashing the power of the Flames of Disaster. Sonic's story has high-speed, ''Sonic Adventure''-style gameplay. Sonic's allies are [[Tails]], who can use his two tails to fly to higher areas; and [[Knuckles]], who can climb to otherwise inaccessible areas and [[Power Glide|glide]] through the air. A story arc allows Sonic to turn Super and to share this power with others.

* '''[[Shadow the Hedgehog]]''': Shadow is a G.U.N. agent and is assigned to rescue another G.U.N. agent, [[Rouge the Bat]] and retrieve the mysterious Scepter of Darkness. Shadow uses vehicles, chaos powers, and variations of the homing attack to progress through the game. Shadow's allies are Rouge the Bat, a jewel thief and government spy who, like Knuckles, can glide through the air and climb; and E-123 Omega, who can hover and shoot rapid-fire.

* '''[[Silver the Hedgehog]]''': Making his debut, Silver is a time traveler who has arrived from the future. He comes to save his home world and stop the mysterious [[Iblis Trigger]]. Silver's gameplay involves the use of telekinetic powers to pick up objects and throw them at enemies as well as to levitate in the air for differing amounts of time, depending on his energy bar. Silver's allies are [[Blaze the Cat]], a princess from another world, with the power to control fire; and [[Amy Rose]], who can double-jump, use her Piko Piko Hammer, and turn invisible.

===Downloadable Content===
Several downloadable extensions have been released that add features to single-player gameplay in the Xbox 360 version. These include Very Hard mode, a much more difficult version of the game, which is available for all three main playable characters; Boss Attack modes, which allow a playable character to engage in continuous battles with all of the game's bosses; and Team Attack Amigo mode, which allows players to play through the entirety of the game as Sonic's friends (''amigos''): [[Tails]], [[Blaze the Cat]], and [[E-123 Omega]].[http://sonic.sega.jp/sonic/downloadcontents] There is also a picture pack for Dr. Eggman, Soleanna, and Sonic.

The only add-on for the PlayStation 3 version is Very Hard mode.

==Emerald Accounting==

Following where the [[Chaos Emeralds]] go during the game's story can be an exercise in frustration; particularly when they lead to plotholes, paradoxes, and ontological loops while being taken backwards and forwards in time by various characters. The route each Emerald takes through the story is as follows (see also diagram):

'''RED''':
:Doesn't appear in the game at all until the [[Last Story]], where Mephiles uses all 7 gems to fuse with Iblis during a cutscene.

'''YELLOW''':
:Spends most of the game buried under [[Dusty Desert]]. Mephiles hunts it down near the end of [[Shadow]]'s story, acquiring it just before the boss fight of [[Mephiles Phase 2]].

'''PURPLE''':
:The first time we see this gem is in Mephiles' possession when he recruits [[Silver]] and [[Blaze]] in [[Crisis City]]. He presumably acquires it after sending himself, Shadow, and [[Rouge]] to the future from [[Kingdom Valley]]. Mephiles apparently carries it around with him throughout the rest of the game, although we only see it again at the start of the [[Last Story]] when he uses it as a distraction to allow him to skewer [[Sonic]].

'''TURQUOISE''':
:This gem enters the story when Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and Rouge find it in [[Iblis Phase 2]]'s cave after [[Flame Core]] in the future. It travels back to [[Soleanna]] with Sonic and stays with him for a while. After Sonic's Kingdom Valley, he uses the turquoise gem to open the portal to a few hours in the past with Silver so he can save [[Elise]] from the [[Egg Carrier]]. Sonic leaves the Emerald with Silver and Blaze, who then take it 200 years into the future to fight [[Iblis Phase 3]].

'''GREY''':
:Silver sees the [[Duke of Soleanna]] seal Iblis inside Elise using this gem at the [[Solaris Project]] 10 years ago. Silver then takes it with him to the present (thereby removing it from time for 10 years and precluding any [[super transformation]]s in the decade before the adventure), and later uses it to open the portal to a few hours in the past with Sonic. The grey gem then goes with Silver and Blaze 200 years into the future to fight Iblis Phase 3.

'''GREEN''':
:This Emerald stays with [[Team Dark]] for most of the game. Shadow and Rouge find it as their Crisis City mission objective 200 years in the future. Rouge takes it back through the portal to [[Soleanna]] as Shadow fights [[Mephiles Phase 1]]. The bat gives it to [[Omega]] after [[Tropical Jungle]], who goes into stasis for 200 years in order to deliver it back to Shadow during the fight. Omega, Shadow, and the green emerald return to the present, and Shadow goes on to use it for [[Chaos Control]] to [[Shadow vs. Silver|kick Silver in the head]]. Shadow then takes the Emerald with him to the Solaris Project 10 years ago, where he uses it to seal Mephiles inside the [[Scepter of Darkness]], then returns again to the present. However, in Shadow's final [[Dusty Desert]] cutscene, crystalline Mephiles suddenly has the green gem in his possession along with the yellow one, apparently having snatched it from Shadow offscreen (perhaps during the confusion of the Scepter's explosion?).

'''BLUE''':
:This is the Emerald which finds itself locked in an [[wikipedia:Ontological paradox|ontological loop]] over the course of the game. The blue gem is implied to have been Princess Elise's lucky charm for many years, and [[Dr. Robotnik]] attacks the Festival of the Sun to steal it from her. Elise throws the jewel to Sonic as she is being kidnapped, and Sonic takes it to [[White Acropolis]] as a ransom, where it goes in Robotnik's time machine. Silver later takes the blue Emerald from White Acropolis after beating the [[Egg Genesis]], and uses it (with Shadow's assistance) to open a portal to the past and the Solaris Project. Silver then gives it to a 7-year-old-Elise, who presumably keeps it with her for the intervening 10 years until the Festival of the Sun is attacked. The problem here is that the blue Emerald never enters or leaves the loop; it didn't exist chronologically before Silver brings it to the Solaris Project, and it doesn't exist after Silver and Shadow warp out of the [[Radical Train]] fight arena. ''And'', since it's been with Elise for the 10 years before the game, how did Sonic and Shadow use it to turn super and defeat [[Perfect Chaos]], [[Finalhazard]], [[Metal Overlord]], and [[Devil Doom]]?

==History==
===Development===

===Release===
This is the second Sonic the Hedgehog game to get an E10+ rating by the [[ESRB]], the first being ''Shadow the Hedgehog''. The [[PEGI]] rating is 12+.

''Sonic '06'' received widespread criticism on release, primarily due to numerous bugs, flawed controls and excessive load times. Many features hinted at during development were not implemented in the final release, and many in-game assets were given a graphical downgrade over what had been shown in earlier screen footage. Sonic Team have since admitted that the game was released in an unpolished and often unfinished state, citing strict development schedules and difficulties adjusting to new console hardware.

The overwrought plot, in particular the relationship between Sonic and newcomer Elise, is the subject of much disdain among fans, though much of these elements are retconned by the game itself by wiping the main characters' memories at the conclusion of the story.

===Legacy===
The many controversies surrounding ''Sonic '06'' likely caused the distinct and noticable change of pace and settings witnessed in ''[[Sonic Unleashed]]'' and ''[[Sonic Colours]]''. Few elements have been brought forward from this game, with the exception of [[Crisis City]]'s inclusion in ''[[Sonic Generations]]'' (it too a controversial decision among some fans) and the character of Silver, who has made numerous cameo appearances in Sonic games since (despite making little sense in terms of game continuity). Mephiles also appeared as a playable character in Sonic Runners.

Redesigned characters, particularly the taller Sonic and the almost entirely different Eggman, have since been reverted to their previous forms. Elise has not appeared in a game since.

''Sonic '06'' is thought to have caused significant damage to the franchise, and while opinions vary on the recovery, this period is often cited as the lowest point in ''Sonic the Hedgehog'''s history.
Although both voice language tracks are included in the game disc, there is not a proper option to switch them in any platform and/or regional version, and the game sets both the text and voice language by default according to the console settings language, with the Japanese voices defaulted to Japanese console language and the English voices to the rest of languages. Therefore, the only way to have the Japanese voices on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions is by changing the console language (Xbox Dashboard in the Xbox 360 and console language option in the PlayStation 3) to Japanese in order to set the game entirely in Japanese.
==Trivia==
*Originally, the store was going to feature a purchasable [[Gems (Sonic 2006)|gem]] that would allow the player to use [[Super Sonic]] in stages besides just the final one (similar to obtaining all seven [[Chaos Emeralds]] in ''[[Sonic 2]]'', ''[[Sonic 3]]'', and ''[[Sonic & Knuckles]]''), but this feature was removed from the final game, most likely because of its rushed development. The gem can still be accessed through hacking, but isn't fully functional.
*Invincibility stars do not work for any character but Sonic. However, the stars disappear before your invulnerability runs out.
*During [[Shadow the Hedgehog]]’s story, the [[Scepter of Darkness]] is mistakenly referred to as the “'''Book''' of Darkness” at one point.
*Another audio blooper was left in near the end of Shadow the Hedgehog's story, when the [[G.U.N.]] Commander tells Shadow: “[[E-123 Ω|E-123]] has engaged [[Mephiles the Dark|Mephiles]]. Head to the [[Wave Ocean]].” He then mumbles to himself about the line and re-speaks it a second time, this time correctly: “E-123 has engaged Mephiles. Head to Wave Ocean immediately.”
*Storywise, this is the only game to feature a villain who succeeded in killing [[Sonic the Hedgehog|Sonic]], albeit soon followed by his induced revival.
*The instruction manual states that there are [[shield]]s in the game, but there aren’t any.
*The manual also states that [[Miles "Tails" Prower|Tails]] and [[E-123 Ω|Omega]] can only fly until their Flight Meter depletes to zero. Neither character has a visible flight meter (and Omega can't even fly, only hover).
*Finally, the manual also states that by collecting [[Chaos Drives]] and [[Light Cores]], Sonic can level up his equipped abilities. There are no level up mechanics in the game, and Chaos Drives do not make an appearance.
*The E3 2006 version of the game’s main song “[[His World]]” is a remix of a track that was originally intended to be in the final game, but was scrapped for unknown reasons. Thus, this track was dubbed [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbkRjjQwdLg&feature=related/ “His World—The Lost Instrumental”] by Sonic fans and people across the internet. An unreleased instrumental of “[[Dreams of an Absolution]]” also exists.
*The song "Town Mission 4" shares a similar melody to the music from [http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Mega_Man_2 Mega Man 2]'s [http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Flash_Man Flash Man] stage.
'''''Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I''''' is the first part of the episodic game ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog 4]]'' originally released on October 7th, 11th, 12th, and 13th in the US regions, October 7th, 13th, and 15th in the EU region, and October 12, 13th in the JP region. A couple years later, Steam and Android ports were also released. Episode I was first announced on the GameSpot website on September 9th, 2009, the 10th anniversary of the [[sega:Sega Dreamcast|Sega Dreamcast]].

==Plot==
''Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I'' is set shortly after the events of ''[[Sonic 3 & Knuckles]]'' and takes place before the events of the next part, named "[[Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II|Episode 2]]". After [[Sonic the Hedgehog (character)|Sonic]] manages to destroy [[Dr. Robotnik|Doctor Eggman's]] space station, he decides it is time to take a much deserved break. After parting with his companions [[Miles "Tails" Prower|Tails]] and [[Knuckles the Echidna|Knuckles]], Sonic sets off to explore new territories alone.

However, unbeknownst to him, his nemesis, Dr. Eggman, has survived their last encounter, and has revisited and improved some of his very best robotic creations in another attempt to defeat Sonic. Sonic must travel through a variety of zones to defeat Dr. Eggman once again.

The first episode sees Sonic travelling through four main zones: Splash Hill, Casino Street, Lost Labyrinth and Mad Gear, where he battles Dr. Eggman and altered versions of his past contraptions. Upon handling Dr. Eggman's four initial mechanisms, Sonic then squares off against the doctor in a boss battle marathon. If the game is finished with all seven Chaos Emeralds collected, a post-credits cutscene is shown, teasing the appearance of [[Metal Sonic]] in the next episode.

===Platform differences===
In order to fit within WiiWare size limits, music in the Wii version uses a sequenced format similar to MIDI or module formats. As a result, there are noticeable differences from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions' recorded music. In addition, the Wii version only supports a maximum resolution of 640x480 due to hardware restrictions.

The iOS/Android version contains some differences found in the [[Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I (PartnerNET build)|PartnerNET build]], and retains some changes found in that build, including the rotating minecart stage in [[Lost Labyrinth Zone]] and the Score Attack section in [[Casino Street Zone]]. The camera rotates when running through loops in this version also. In addition, the music does not loop properly.

The 360 version is noticeably shinier than its counterparts, due to higher bloom. The PS3 version doesn't use as much bloom and the iPad version alters some textures, making them less shiny as well.

Only the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions support custom soundtracks.

==Criticism==
''Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I'' has been criticized for its "floaty" physics, likely due to its use of the ''[[Sonic Rush]]'' engine. This can often result in various oddities such as Sonic being able to stand sideways on walls. Another major criticism is Sonic uncurling when he flies off an edge, thus leaving him susceptible to enemy attacks. Following negative reception from older builds, it was confirmed that the physics would be tuned up for the final release, however it has been stated that dramatic changes in the way the game plays would require extensive level-redesign, which was not possible in the time limit set until the game's release.

The music has also been criticized for its poor choice of synthesized instruments, as well as low-quality DAC recordings from ''[[Sonic 2]]'' that vary little between songs. [[Jun Senoue]] said that he looked into using a [[Mega Drive]] soundfont, but could not find a NEC PC-88 (a popular 80s Japanese computer with similar sound hardware) to run the software on.
'''''Sonic Pinball Party''''' (ソニック ピンボール パーティー) is a video game released for [[Game Boy Advance]] in 2003. It is a celebration of sorts for [[Sonic Team]], featuring many references to other games they developed.

''Sonic Pinball Party'' was released exclusively to Target stores in North America[http://gameboy.ign.com/articles/423/423510p1.html]. Because of this, it went largely unnoticed and has since became highly sought after. This drew ire from fans in Canada and Mexico, which do not have Target stores, and Sega made no alternate arrangements to get the game to other stores in those countries. It wasn't until the release of ''[[Sonic Advance & Sonic Pinball Party Combo Pack]]'' that Sonic Pinball party became available in other retail stores.

This is one of several games to include the ''[[Tiny Chao Garden]]'' minigame. Tiny Chao Garden is unlocked by default in this game.

==Gameplay==
Players control the two flippers and can also shake the board in 3 directions. The goal in Basic mode is simply to rack up points. Story mode uses [[Sonic the Hedgehog]] as the story's main character as he works his way through the Egg Cup pinball tournament to rescue his brainwashed comrades. Rings collected in either Basic or Story mode can be used in the Chao Garden minigame or in the Casinopolis minigames. There is also a party mode available which requires each player to have a game cartridge. Party mode has three different games to play which are: Bakudan, a game that requires players to fling bombs at each other, Hockey, a game that requires you to defend your goal, and Biru no Bori, a game that requires players to fling a single ball up a vertical passageway.

==Boards==
The game features 3 Pinball tables: one is based on the ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' series, the second is based on the Sega Saturn classic ''[[NiGHTS into Dreams]]'', and the third is based on the [[Sega Dreamcast]] and arcade game ''[[Samba de Amigo]]''.

The Sonic table has a [[Neo Green Hill Zone]], [[Secret Base Zone]], [[Casino Paradise Zone]], [[Ice Mountain Zone]], [[Angel Island Zone]], [[Egg Rocket Zone]], [[X-Zone]], and [[The Moon Zone]] boards. They are all based on the zones from ''[[Sonic Advance]]''. The player must first acquire five hundred rings in Ring mode before beating Eggman at X-Zone to enter The Moon Zone. Going into a hidden hole three times changes your character to Tails, then Knuckles, then Amy, and back to Sonic.

On each board, the player must beat Eggman to move to the next area. Until the player loses, they will keep playing the zones in a circle.

On the Casinopolis boards you can use rings to gamble in a trio of minigames. The three games are Roulette, Slots, and Bingo. Only Roulette is available at the start and the other two need to be unlocked by playing through Story mode.

'''''Sonic Advance 3''''' (ソニック アドバンス3) is the third game in the ''[[Sonic Advance]]'' series released for the [[Game Boy Advance]]. Unlike the first two games in the series, ''Sonic Advance 3'' features ability to play two characters in a partner setting. The [[Tiny Chao Garden]] mode from the previous Advance games has been removed and the Chao Playground has been put in its place. The Chao Garden in this game serves to help the player view the [[Chaos Emeralds]] and Chao they have collected.

The game focuses on Robotnik's newest creation, [[Gemerl]], as he co-pilots all of Eggman's vehicles and is an extra final boss if the player collects all the [[Chaos Emeralds]] in the game. Gemerl's design and name are a direct reference to the robot [[Emerl]] whom was a main character in ''[[Sonic Battle]]''. Sega of Japans website actually mentions he was built from the scrap parts of Emerl.

This is the very last game to use the original English Sonic voice actors before they were changed to the 4Kids English ([[Sonic X]]) cast. It also contains the last voice acting done by Deem Bristow before he passed away.

==Storyline==
Sometime before the events of the storyline, [[Dr. Eggman]] builds a robotic assistant based on and using parts from Emerl named Gemerl. Gemerl's designed to be a loyal, obedient copy of Emerl. As such, he can learn new attacks, and can meld himself seamlessly with any mechanical device.
Eggman tears the Earth apart when an experiment using [[Chaos Control]] goes awry, and Sonic is separated from Knuckles, Amy, and Cream and is stranded with Tails. The two begin to search for their friends and the source of the trouble (which is the separation of the [[Chaos Emerald]]s). But like always, Eggman is making everything from doomsday devices to strange contraptions and is trying to vanquish Sonic once and for all.

'''Alternate Ending''': (without all Chaos Emeralds)
After defeating the final boss, Eggman and Gemerl are defeated and try to escape, with Eggman swearing revenge. The heroes, chase him down to the edge of the temple, knocking Eggman to a deadly situation. Gemerl, stays and looks at the heroes as if to intimidate them, then jumps off the edge to follow his master. Peace is finally restored to the world. Then the game ends with all the playable characters getting their photo taken by Omochao. (The end credits also leave a message to players to collect any remaining Chaos Emeralds)

'''True Ending''': (with all 7 Chaos Emeralds)
After defeating the final boss, Eggman and Gemerl are defeated and try to escape, with Eggman swearing revenge. However, Gemerl stops running & attacks Sonic, causing the Chaos Emeralds Sonic has to scatter. Upon seeing the 7 Chaos Emeralds, the bad code that caused Emerl to malfunction activates, and Gemerl uses the Chaos Emeralds to transform into a rogue, orb-shaped robot. Gemerl then grabs Dr. Eggman and throws him at Sonic before escaping into outer space. Using the power of the Emeralds as well, Sonic becomes Super Sonic and, with the help of Dr. Eggman, Super Sonic destroys the improved Gemerl. Eventually, Tails finds Gemerl's broken body on a beach and repairs the robot. The game ends with the new Gemerl playing with Cream the Rabbit at her mother Vanilla's house.

==Game Play==
The gameplay of this game is like a combination of the platforming from the original ''[[Sonic Advance]]'' and the speed-oriented gameplay of ''[[Sonic Advance 2]]''. The game also incorporates elements from ''[[Knuckles' Chaotix]]'', with its 2 character team-ups and ring-dropping enemies, though the actual ring bands are gone. The 2 character team up is similar to previous Side-scrolling Sonic games as the second player actually follows the other character. This second player is controlled by the computer or player 2 in multiplayer mode. Partners can also be picked up by holding {{R}} and then released. This is another element first seen in ''Knuckles Chaotix''.

===Team type===
Each team has a specific "type", which more or less determines which type of gameplay the team is best at. There are 3 types:

* ''Speed'': any team that contains Sonic. These are generally very fast on the ground.
* ''Power'': any team that contains Knuckles but not Sonic. These are good at attacking foes, and breaking barriers to access areas other teams cannot.
* ''Flying'': any team with Tails or Cream but not Sonic or Knuckles. These are good at accessing higher places in the level.

Note that these are just general abilities; each team has their own strengths and weaknesses.

===Team Name===
When selecting certain combinations of characters it will usually display OK. However, selecting certain teams will actually display a Team name and this team will have exclusive abilities which can't be obtained by any other character team-ups. The Team names are below:
* ''Unbreakable Bond'': Sonic & Tails
* ''Fighting Buddies'': Sonic & Knuckles
* ''Lovely Couple'': Sonic & Amy
* ''Team Jubilee'': Amy and Cream

===Tag action===
By holding the {{R}} button, the partner will jump into the leader's hands. Upon releasing the {{R}} button, the partner will perform a ''tag action''. This action is different for each character, and sometimes whether you are on the ground or not. ''Tag actions'', along with other partner abilities, are enumerated below.

===Abilities with Sonic as a Partner===
''A free spirited hedgehog that hates evil. He can be short tempered at times, but never turns his back on those in need of help.''

Due to his speed, any team that contains Sonic is designated as a ''Speed'' team, and is generally good at getting around quickly.
===Abilities with Knuckles as a Partner===
''A powerful Echidna with spiky fists, and Sonic's best friend and rival. He's sincere in nature, but a little gullible and easily misled.''

Due to his strength, any team that contains Knuckles is designated as a ''Power'' team, which the exception of ''Sonic & Knuckles'' and ''Knuckles & Sonic''.

===Abilities with Cream as a Partner===
''Cream is a polite little rabbit that takes her tiny Chao "Cheese" wherever she goes. She means well, but can act a little childish at times.''

===Abilities with Amy as a Partner===
''Sonic's self professed girlfriend that he can't seem to escape from. She never leaves home without her trademark Pikopiko Hammer.''

Amy has no outstanding characteristics, aside from her hammer, and has no bearing on what type designation a team is given.
While in the air, Amy will also use the hammer, however the vertical distance is not as strong as on the ground; however, your character is made to spin, so this move has its uses.

===Abilities with Eggman as a Partner===
Sonic and Dr. Eggman are forced to team up in the Extra Zone, [[Nonagression]], when Gemerl steals the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Any partner that Sonic uses to access the zone is automatically replaced by Eggman. Eggman does not affect the team type, which remains as Speed.

==Storyline==

==Game Play==

===Team type===

===Team Name===
When selecting certain combinations of characters it will usually display OK. However, selecting certain teams will actually display a Team name and this team will have exclusive abilities which can't be obtained by any other character team-ups. The Team names are below:
* ''Unbreakable Bond'': Sonic & Tails
* ''Fighting Buddies'': Sonic & Knuckles
* ''Lovely Couple'': Sonic & Amy
* ''Team Jubilee'': Amy and Cream

===Tag action===

===Abilities with Sonic as a Partner===
''A free spirited hedgehog that hates evil. He can be short tempered at times, but never turns his back on those in need of help.''

Due to his speed, any team that contains Sonic is designated as a ''Speed'' team, and is generally good at getting around quickly.

Any team with Tails has the ability to access high places in one way or another. If the team contains Tails, but not Sonic or Knuckles, it is designated as a ''Flying'' team.
===Abilities with Knuckles as a Partner===
''A powerful Echidna with spiky fists, and Sonic's best friend and rival. He's sincere in nature, but a little gullible and easily misled.''
''Tag action'': On the ground, the leader will throw Knuckles forward in a Power attack; this can break some walls and will destroy badniks. In the air, Knuckles will begin to [[Power Glide|glide]], carrying you on his back. Be warned, if Knuckles hits a wall, he will latch on, but you will fall!

===Abilities with Cream as a Partner===
''Cream is a polite little rabbit that takes her tiny Chao "Cheese" wherever she goes. She means well, but can act a little childish at times.''

Any team with Cream has the ability to access high places in one way or another. If the team contains Cream, but not Sonic or Knuckles, it is designated as a ''Flying'' team.

===Abilities with Amy as a Partner===
''Sonic's self professed girlfriend that he can't seem to escape from. She never leaves home without her trademark Pikopiko Hammer.''

Amy has no outstanding characteristics, aside from her hammer, and has no bearing on what type designation a team is given.
''Tag action'': On the ground, Amy will use her hammer to propel you into the air. This is similar to Tails' tag action, only you are not given horizontal velocity at the start. While in the air, Amy will also use the hammer, however the vertical distance is not as strong as on the ground; however, your character is made to spin, so this move has its uses.

===Abilities with Eggman as a Partner===

===Palette Options===
At the main title screen, press {{R}}. In the upper right corner, the game will display the palette setting you're currently using. Press {{R}} again to change the palette. There are three different settings: "Game Boy Advance", "Game Boy Advance SP", and "Game Boy Player". The settings optimize the vividness of the colour for the system that you are using.

The '''Giant Mech''' is the final boss of [[Sonic the Hedgehog 2]]. It is a huge robot made in the likeness of [[Dr. Eggman]]. This boss returns as a final boss [[E.G.G. Station Zone Final Boss|again]] in ''[[Sonic 4]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[E.G.G Station Zone]], and once again as a [[Death Egg Robot|boss]] in ''[[Sonic Generations]]'', now called the Death Egg Robot.

==Strategy==
The robot will take four steps toward the player, half a step back, then launch off the screen. The Player has to jump and hit him, but the robot has two spiked fists about halfway up his body. Touching these or his legs will kill Sonic and force the player to fight [[Mecha Sonic]] again. Sonic must jump and hit him above the spiked fists. This is very difficult to do at any time, but the safest times to do it are when he is standing still and not taking a step. Hitting the bot when it is walking is considerably more risky, although it's the only way to win the battle quickly. The safest time to hit him is when he bends down slightly (This happens at two points, when he stands still a moment before he launches and right after he appears or lands). Don't hit him when he takes his last step forward since one of his fists will be extended forward.

After he launches, a white target circle appears on Sonic and follows him wherever he goes. When a smaller circle appears inside the larger one, it means the target has locked on, and won't follow the player . This is the time to move. The robot will come down where the target locked on.

He will then shoot both fists, one at a time. The fists don't fly all the way across the room. Eggman will, after launching his fists, launch again, and repeat the last step with the target and try to land on his enimy. After that the entire sequence will repeat.

If Sonic is able to get behind Eggman at any time when he lands, he'll stay stationary and launch two mines at Sonic. The mines fall where the character was standing when they launched and explode shortly after they land. Robotnik is not as vulnerable from behind as he is from the front so this is a disadvantage. After shooting the mines, he will launch upward again.

After defeating the second boss, Sonic runs off the edge of the exploding [[Death Egg]], ending the level and leading to the Sonic 2 ending animation.

== Playing as Knuckles ==
This is the hardest level boss-character combination for this game. Since [[Knuckles]] doesn't jump as high as [[Sonic]] or [[Tails]], another strategy must be used.

The peak of his jump puts him horizontally level with the spiked fists. This means you can only hit above the arms when the robot is bending down. It is possible to score hits under the arms using glide but this requires timing and precision almost impossible to keep up. Avoid the temptation to hit the robot when it is walking, as you will die.

It is also possible to score hits if Knuckles is behind the robot, where he can score hits by jumping into the robot's weak point.

== Glitch ==
When hitting the robot when it is bending down, it is possible to pass through the outline of the robot chest and die upon contact with the arms. To avoid this, always pull back as soon as contact with the chest has been made. Knuckles can effortlessly work around this glitch by gliding into the mech; he will always bounce away after hitting.

:''For the [[Sonic & Knuckles]] level, see [[Death Egg Zone (S&K)]]. For other uses, see [[Death Egg (disambiguation)]].''

'''Death Egg Zone''' is the 11th and final zone in ''[[Sonic 2]]'', taking place on the [[Death Egg]]. This level shares layout tiles and a palette with [[Chemical Plant Zone]].

This zone consists only of 2 short walkways leading up to 2 boss battles.

==Mecha Sonic==
:''Main article: [[Mecha Sonic (Death Egg Zone Boss)]]''

Mecha Sonic (called Silver Sonic in the US manual) is a slow metal version of Sonic. You can win this one in 15 seconds. Just hit him 4 times as soon as he comes down, and then another 4 when he goes off to the other side of the screen.

==Robotnik's Giant Mech==

:''Main article: [[Dr. Robotnik's Giant Mech]]''

Not that the scientist isn’t a bloated whale already, you might think, but this is even worse. As if [[Eggman]] has taken the idea of a metal Sonic, decided there had to be a metal Robotnik to balance things out, and then gone insane with egomania.

This mecha towers over twenty metres tall, bristling with antennae and sensor dishes. Its torso is spherical, with red and yellow paintwork mimicking the Doctor’s own jumpsuit. Immense robotic limbs branch from the central mass, secondary motors roaring as the arms swing and titanic feet ram down one in front of the other. A pink dome of a head bulges out from the top of the central sphere; vast metallic moustache twitching back and forth beneath its pointed nose.

It's the final battle! This giant Eggman mech is debatably the hardest boss stage in ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)|Sonic 2]]''. With no rings at all, one hit will end it for the spiky blue hero. Robotnik's attacks include launching his arms like rockets, trying to stamp on you, and dropping right on your head with his targetted slamdown. Also, don't get caught behind the robot - Dr. Robotnik launches a pair of grenades at you which pretty much guarantee death. Just be patient, and restrict yourself to attacking the head only when the mecha bows its feet after landing from one of its jetpack flights.

After 12 hits, if you have all seven emeralds, the good ending is unlocked. If the player defeats this boss, the [[Death Egg]] explodes, and Sonic just about survives by hurling himself out of an airlock into space. Looking like the end for Sonic as he descends through the Mobian stratosphere, [[Tails]] appears and catches Sonic on the [[Tornado]], thus ending the game.

The good ending shows [[Super Sonic]] flying by the Tornado, instead of Tails catching Sonic.

==Trivia==
If this zone is "cleared" by placing a signpost or a capsule in the 2013 version of the game, the game will load [[Hidden Palace Zone]].
The 2013 release of '''''Sonic the Hedgehog 2''''' is an enhanced downloadable remake of the 1992 [[Sega Mega Drive]] game ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)|Sonic the Hedgehog 2]]''. It was published by [[Sega]] for [[sega:iOS|iOS]] and [[sega:Android|Android]] devices on December 12, 2013.

This version of ''Sonic the Hedgehog 2'' was being developed by [[Sonic Retro]] Tech Members [[The Taxman]] and [[Stealth]], using a proprietary game engine named the "[[Retro Engine]]" (first used in ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog CD (2011)|the 2011 version of ''Sonic the Hedgehog CD]]''). It was offered as a free upgrade to iOS users who bought the original [[Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (iPhone)|iOS emulation]] of ''Sonic 2''. This also marks the first time that Sonic 2 was brought to Android devices.

As this was a remake instead of an emulated port, new features were added. The new features were similar to the previous 16-bit game remasters. The Taxman confirmed that no features from ''Sonic 2'' would be excluded.[http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?showtopic=31061&view=findpost&p=766368]

New features included a remastered soundtrack, the game running at 60 fps during normal and special stages,[http://www.sonicretro.org/2013/10/sonic-2-mobile-update-transformed-ios-unveiled/], a remade version of the lost beta level [[Hidden Palace Zone]], and an eighth [[Special Stage (Sonic the Hedgehog 2 16-bit)|Special Stage]].
==Cheat Codes==
===Level Select===
*Start a "No Save" game and choose a character. Once the Sega logo appears, tap the letters S-E-G-A in that order. If done correctly, a chime will sound. Then on the main screen tap and hold with two fingers. You will then be taken to the level select screen.

===Tails/Miles Name Change===
*If you wish to replace the appearances in-game of the name "Tails" to "Miles", tap the letters A-G-E-S in that order when the Sega logo appears. If done correctly, a chime will sound. This can be done on both a saved game and No Save Mode game.

===Game Configuration Menu===
*Play the sounds 00, 00, 00 in the sound test to bring up the game config menu.
**You can choose between Sonic alone, Sonic and Tails, Tails alone, Knuckles and Tails, or Knuckles alone.
**You can also choose between Sonic 2's monitors, Sonic 3's monitors, or hidden (2 player) versions of either of those monitor sets.
***Warning: The "hidden" set may randomly generate the monitors. More testing required.
**Flight and Air Cap can also be toggled.

===Debug Mode===
*Play sounds 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04 in the sound test then select a level.
**The debug mode numbers here, like Sonic 1, are the North American release date: 1992/11/24
**To enter debug mode tap in the upper left hand corner of the screen. A minus sign (-) and a plus sign (+) will appear. These can be used for navigating back and forth through the debug items. To exit the level and return to the level select screen, tap the upper right hand corner of the screen. To enter normal play again tap the upper left hand corner of the screen.

===All Emeralds===
*Play sounds 04, 01, 02, 06 in the sound test. You should hear the sound of an emerald being collected. You will now have all seven Chaos Emeralds. Possibly inspired by Genesis 41:26: ""The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one."

===Proto Palace Zone===
*Play sounds 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04 in the sound test to enable debug mode. You must do this or it will not work.
*Then play the sounds 03, 03, 03, 0B, 10, 10, 10, 04, then select Hidden Palace Zone.
**This is the original version of Hidden Palace Zone from the Simon Wai and Nick Arcade prototypes. Its background music is track #10 and at the end of the stage the emerald will send you back to the level select screen.
***For reference, the themes used in the code are, in order, Hidden Palace (the final version of the level), Oil Ocean, (the level after Hidden Palace), Proto Palace (the level you're opening), and Mystic Cave (the level with the Hidden Palace entrance).
**If you die in Proto Palace Zone, you will not be sent back to the level select nor reappear in Proto Palace Zone. Instead, the game will load Hidden Palace Zone.
*"Clearing" this zone by placing a signpost or a capsule in Debug Mode will load Oil Ocean Zone.

===Eighth Special Stage===
*Play Sound #07, then select "Special Stage".
[[Image:Sket bee.png|180px|right]]
'''Bee''' is a [[badnik]] which was set to appear in [[Emerald Hill Zone]]. It's design is similar to that of the [[Buzzer]] badnik that also appears in Emerald Hill Zone. It attacked by firing projectiles from its stinger, also like Buzzer. However, said projectiles were capable of burning down the wooden log bridges throughout the zone, albeit opening access to alternate pathways.

In the 2013 version, this badnik can be placed in Emerald Hill Zone using Debug Mode.
[[Image:Spr fireball.gif|left]]
Graphics of what may be a flaming log were found in the [[Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Simon Wai prototype)|Simon Wai prototype]]. This could be indicitive that the Bee badnik was incorperated in the game at some point.
[[Image:Snailbot.png|right]]
The '''Snail''' is a cut badnik that appeared in [[Emerald Hill Zone]]. Its design is an overgrown snail with spikes at the top of its body. When the badnik sees [[Sonic]], it charges at him by speeding up. It can be destroyed by simply jumping on it. It was replaced in [[Sonic 2 Beta 4]] by the [[Coconuts]] monkey badnik. Its behaviour may have been transferred to the [[Rhinobot]] badnik in [[Angel Island Zone]].

It can be placed in Emerald Hill Zone using Debug mode in the 2013 version of Sonic 2.

A Snail with a different behavior pattern can be seen in concept art. This version of the Snail would cling to walls, and then fall to the ground and roll after the players character as they pass it. It was to appear in [[Hill Top Zone]].
It's possible that they were originally intended to take off from the Wing Fortress as it passed by. If a Balkiry is selected in debug mode, this sprite will be seen instead of its flying one.
|-
|[[Image:S2-Turtle.gif|center]]||Walking Turtle||Walking sprites of the turtles that pop out of the badniks in [[Sky Chase Zone]]. Normally you'll never see this, since the animal never has the opportunity to hit the ground.
|-
|[[Image:S2-Picky.gif|center]]||Unused Animal||[[Picky]], a returning animal from [[Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit)|Sonic 1]], is present in [[Death Egg Zone]]. However, there are no badniks or animal capsules, so he's never seen.
|-
|[[File:Sonic2-RobotnikLaugh.gif]]||Robotnik Laugh
|In Death Egg Zone, getting hit with one or more Rings during the Silver Sonic battle causes Robotnik to laugh. However, this is never actually seen outside of debug mode because the Zone has no Rings. In the 2013 mobile remake, this animation can be seen normally if the player dies during the fight. In [[3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2]] it can also be seen if the player is hurt by Silver Sonic if the Ring Keeper mode is on.
|-
|}

==Unused Score Tally==
[[File:Sonic2UnusedScoreTally.png]]

This configuration of the score tally is unused but was meant for levels with a single act (Sky Chase Zone, etc). It can be made to appear by using debug mode and placing, then breaking a capsule.

==Unused Music Track==
In the sound test, song $10 is actually a unused song. This has been established to be the music meant for [[Hidden Palace Zone]].

==Sonic 1 Sound Effects==
There are a few sound effects leftover from ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit)|Sonic 1]]'' and can be heard in the sound test.

*29 - Touching the R, Up, and Down [[Special Stage (Sonic the Hedgehog 16-bit)|Special Stage]] blocks.
*31 - [[Scrap Brain Zone]] electricity.
*3A - Touching color changing diamonds in the Special Stage.
*43 - Special Stage giant ring entry noise.
*47 - [[Marble Zone]] chain pulling noise.
*49 - End of act bonus point icon.

==Unused Sound Effects==
Sounds not used anywhere in the game can be heard in the sound test.

*38 - Similar to sound 22.
*51
*52
*68 - Similar to sound 69.

==True Level Order==
The level order that is used during gameplay is actually quite different from the intended order according to the level slots. A simple level select [[Pro Action Replay]] code (FFFE10:??00) can be used to verify this:
{|class="prettytable"
! Order in gameplay||Actual
|-
|Emerald Hill Zone
|Emerald Hill Zone (00)
|-
|Chemical Plant Zone
|-
|Wing Fortress Zone
|Aquatic Ruin Zone (0F)
|-
|Death Egg Zone
|Sky Chase Zone (10)
|}

Level slots 01,02,03,05,09 all lead to Emerald Hill Zone and 08 is actually Hidden Palace. In the [[Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Simon Wai prototype)| Simon Wai prototype]] some of these were used for scrapped levels. 02 was used for [[Wood Zone]] and 0E was used for [[Genocide City Zone]].

Commentary found in the ''[[Sonic Jam]]'' strategy guide reveals that the level order could have been even more different. It states that [[Chemical Plant Zone]] was meant to be the 10th zone back when the game was planned as an 18 zone game.

==Inaccessible Rings==
There are some levels that have rings in places that can't be reached normally. This makes getting a Perfect bonus in these stages impossible.[http://tcrf.net/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_2_(Genesis)#Inaccessible_Rings]

Since the games in the collection were modified for use on the Nintendo DS, some cheat codes that worked in the Mega Drive originals do not work here.

All cheats work in the following games as these games used button combinations to unlock cheats:

*''[[Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit)|Sonic the Hedgehog]]''
*''[[Knuckles in Sonic 2]]''
*[[Sonic & Knuckles]]

In the following games, almost none of the cheat codes work because the roms were modified for use on the DS, disabling options menus that enabled cheats in Sonic the Hedgehog 2:
*''[[Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit)|Sonic the Hedgehog]]'' (All of the original cheats work in Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic Classic Collection except you have to use the Y button instead of the A and C buttons.
*''[[Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)|Sonic the Hedgehog 2]]'' (The only cheats that work for Sonic 2 in Classic Collection is the "Change Tails' name to Miles in the HUD" cheat) and the level select code in Knuckles in Sonic 2 by using the Y button instead of the A button.
*''[[Sonic the Hedgehog 3]]'' (Level Select code can be entered but it is not possible to press {{Start}} after the code is enabled as needed.)
*''[[Sonic 3 & Knuckles]]'' (Level Select code can be entered but it is not possible to press {{Start}} after the code is enabled as needed. It is possible however to hold Y after you get a game over to be able to access the ability to use DEBUG MODE the original way at Mushroom Hill Zone)
*''[[Sonic & Knuckles]]'' The level select cheat is still enabled, but requires the player to get a Game Over or finish the game to use it.

Action Replay codes exist, which allows one to enter the level select screens.
'''''Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut''''' (ソニックアドベンチャー デラックス; pronounced ''Sonic Adventure Deluxe'' in Japan but still written on the box as ''DX'') is an enhanced port of the [[Sega Dreamcast]] game, ''[[Sonic Adventure]]'', with many added features and updated graphics. It was first released in the US, Japan, and Europe for the [[GameCube]] and was later also released for the PC in Japan and Europe and also had a limited US release. Unfortunately, it didn't do quite as well with reviews as its Dreamcast predecessor did.

== Changes Between Dreamcast and GameCube Versions ==
===Main Game===
*Enhanced graphics: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy were re-created with higher polygon counts, resulting in smoother models. For some reason, Big and Gamma were not recreated. However, Big's hands were given a higher polygon count. The GameCube's TEV system, similar to nVidia's register combiners, was also used for effects like rippling water. (These effects are not present in the PC version, however). The PC version has the option to remove some smaller objects or effects from stages (like the fire hydrants in Speed Highway's At Dawn segment) to improve performance.
*The train used to transport from [[Station Square]] to [[Mystic Ruins]] is now blue instead of red as in the Dreamcast version.
*The game runs at 60 frames per second. Unfortunately, the framerate is generally unstable and frequently dips below 60fps, even in areas that do not seem to be graphically complex (framerate stability problems are not present in the PC version, assuming you meet its recommended system requirements). Cutscenes are locked at 30fps for a "cinematic feel", and to preserve the original script timings.
*Some sound effects, such as when collecting rings and emblems, are lower in pitch.
*A "Free Look" camera option was added, allowing the user to reposition the camera with the Gamecube's C-stick. This option is reset to Sonic Adventure's original "Auto Camera" setting every time the game loads a new map.
*Changes (mostly minor) were made within the levels themselves in an effort to help solve some of the game's problems concerning collision detection. However, many glitches were not fixed.
*New glitches were introduced, related to inconsistencies in the port (for example, some windows still reflect the original Dreamcast graphics).
*The Internet connection feature was removed. Some of the downloadable content from the Dreamcast version was included with the GameCube port.
*A new Mission Mode is available, similar to the Mission Mode found in ''[[Sonic Jam]]'''s three-dimensional [[Sonic World]]. It features 60 missions spread across the six playable characters, where special tasks must be completed in the game's Adventure Fields and Action Stages.
*[[Metal Sonic]] becomes a playable character in Trial mode, as a reward for collecting all the Emblems.
*[[Cream the Rabbit]] makes several cameo appearances during the main game and Mission Mode to guide the player: for example, when finding the "Ice Stone" after [[Casinopolis]] Action Stage and when [[E-102]] "Gamma" first goes to Station Square.
*A "mini-game" collection of the 12 Sonic-related Game Gear games was added. (see below)
*The ability to skip cutscenes by pushing {{Start}} was added.
*Map option available by pausing the game in Adventure Fields.
*Some voice effects were changed like when [[Tails]] begins to fly or when [[Amy]] swings her hammer.
*The ability to have a clear pause screen by holding {{X}} and {{Y}} was removed.

===Chao Garden===
*The Black Market from ''[[Sonic Adventure 2: Battle]]'' has been added to the Station Square [[Chao Garden]].
*The game uses ''Sonic Adventure 2: Battle'''s advanced Chao raising system (it has on screen stats, petting, whistling). However, the Chao Doctor, Chao Kindergarten, and the Chao Karate minigame do not appear.
*Chao allegiances can be changed between Hero, Neutral, and Dark. However, players have to use Chao fruits to do so. (Specific characters do not have an alignment, nor do the Chao Gardens.)
*Flat colored, shiny, and jewel Chao can be purchased, as well as special fruit. Seeds to plant in the Gardens do not exist, however.
*The Chao Transporter allows manual Chao naming, as well as ''Sonic Adventure 2'''s "Goodbye" feature.
*Chao can be seamlessly transported between ''Sonic Adventure 2: Battle'' and ''Sonic Adventure: DX''.
*The Chao Stadium uses Sonic Adventure 2's music and GUI.
*The [[Chao Adventure]] VMU minigame was removed and instead replaced with a similar GBA connection feature (see below).
*You can also transfer one Chao from this game to ''[[Sonic Advance]]'', ''[[Sonic Advance 2]]'', and ''[[Sonic Pinball Party]]'' with the GCN-GBA Link Cable.
*A downloadable ''[[Tiny Chao Garden]]'' GBA minigame is available. (via the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable)
*The Egg Carrier Chao Garden was redesigned; now there's no deep water in the area, making it possible to grab Chao floating on it, and the hill in the middle was oddly removed, meaning that Eggman's base is now at a lower height.

===Main Game===

===Chao Garden===
