Young Girl's Jungle Trap
From Sonic Retro
Young Girl's Jungle Trap is the 6th episode in the second season, and the 58th overall episode of Sonic X. In the English dub, it is known as Desperately Seeking Sonic.
As the Blue Typhoon approaches a new planet covered with jungles, it intercepts a pair of Metarex flying away with its Planet Egg. Tails uses the Sonic Driver to good effect, and destroys the larger of the pair...only realizing afterwards that no one has planned any method of getting Sonic back to the ship. Sonic falls to the planet's surface, and by sheer luck crashes into Dr. Eggman's hoverpod and the Chaos Emerald that they have uncovered. Sonic takes the Emerald and runs off.
Meanwhile, the smaller Metarex mourns his brother's death, as well as his own relative lack of power. He decides to trap Sonic and his friends rather than fighting them head-on, so he takes the Planet Egg and runs away with it. Tails and Knuckles search for Sonic in the X-Tornado, but Amy is furious to be left out, and heads off into the jungle alone. Cosmo, inspired by her initiative, follows her, and Cream and Cheese run after them so as not to be left behind. The four of them end up in a cat-and-mouse game with the Metarex, alternately being snared in his traps and breaking out with the Planet Egg.
Meanwhile, Tails and Knuckles catch up with Sonic, but as they are about to pick him up, Eggman snatches Sonic's Emerald away with a large many-armed robot. Amy and her party arrive with the Metarex chasing them, and Eggman grabs them all up in the robot's arms. Cosmo uses the Planet Egg to make nearby roots grow, which frees them, but entangles everyone on both sides. They call Chris for help, and he arrives with more new shoes for Sonic, this time resembling his Soap shoes from Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic grinds along the vines and sends Eggman packing, and the Planet Egg sinks back underground, releasing everyone. Sonic and his friends dispatch the Metarex easily, and they all head back to space together with both of their Chaos Emeralds.
