Lol; if there was any of the Rivals 2 pics I'd have opted to change, it's the Mystic Haunt Zone one, with it's extreme zoom-in so you can't actually see what the level environment looks like. :)
BUT ANYWAY. Do you have sauce plox for these pix? 'Cos we need boss piccies as well... Frozen Nitrogen 01:15, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
Hello. =P You still got the scans or the ability to recreate them for Sonic Advance 2 JP Manual? There are 4 corrupt images and 23 missing ones from this page - this'd take a sizable chunk off the missing images list if you have. Overlord 16:58, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Is that really proper? I'm trying to look at it as a last name. Plenty of them have the suffix -man. Example: Sarah Silverman. Now when you refer to her family, you certainly wouldn't say the "Silvermen" would you? It be the Silversmans. Anyway, just thought I'd point it out. --ソニックエンジェル948 05:09, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi there! I just saw that you added in the super transformation article that emerald power was a kind of super transformation. While I have the same opinion as you about Knuckles being in his super state in Sonic Heroes I believe that emerald power his more a move like chaos blast or thunder arrow than a super state. Is there any way to confirm which one is the correct one? Cheers 10e10 00:11, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Have I been away from the Wiki this long that I never noticed this? Here's the tl'dr. If Darkspine/Excalibur Sonic are super states, then Emerald Power is one too. For the in depth analysis, see below.
The most comparable thing would seem to be Chaos Boost as it's a short lived ability augment. There are a few differences however. First and foremost, it's powered by the Master Emerald, which has been shown to grant super states in its own right. Appearance wise, not only does it look near identical to a previous super state of Knuckles, but it also displays similar attributes to the known supers in the game, Sonic and Shadow. Most notable is the energy trail.
A kicker though is the gained ability to outright fly. Knuckles is known to glide but never actually fly unless he's in a super state. We can deduce that this is flying and not gliding because not only is the stance different from Knuckles's usual glide stance, but there's also no altitude decrease. In fact, he hovers at ground level just like a super state would. At any rate, it is definitely an ability buff.
The big thing in how this should be classed it the way damage is dealt. While Knuckles becomes invulnerable (he cannot receive damage), he only deals damage with his fists. Basically you can't run someone over with Knuckles like you can with Sonic and Shadow, you have to actually hit them. This creates a bit of a problem. The way super states deal damage is inconsistent. Most times it is simply by contact, but there are instances where an attack must be landed. Sonic Adventure 2 is one, Sonic Heroes is another. There's also the storybook games and the forms within which LACK invulnerability. This will come into play later.
As I'm not sure about Sonic 06 (I think I can ask someone about that though), a huge factor in this is Shadow the Hedgehog (the game). Super Shadow does not deal damage by contact and can be slowed down by projectiles. That is, until you activate Hero/Dark Shadow, AKA Chaos Boost. Chaos Boost in that game grants true invincibility, and can be stacked on a super state. Even in 06, Super Shadow has a reddish tint, which may imply that he is using Chaos boost the entire time.
Now, if you're still alive through all of that (FN's right in that I put waaay to much research into this) I think the entire thing calls for an assessment of what we define as a Super State. Granted, anything accessed by the Chaos Emeralds is an automatic yes. But what of other mac guffins? The Sol Emeralds, Master Emerald, World Rings, Sacred Swords. Do we count these as super transformations? Or something else entirely? Furthermore, are they equal to each other? There's actually a decent case of the Sol Emeralds providing less power than the Chaos Emeralds; and the storybook macguffins are likely nowhere near. I'd already put Emerald Power a step above the storybook forms because it renders Knux completely invincible. It could be on the level of Chaos Boost if you write off the gained flight as a strength enhancement to the glide ability. (I personally wouldn't, but I can see a case for it). The question now is a theoretical one. Could Knuckles stack Emerald Power on Super Knuckles? Or would it replace said form altogether? I'll end here and leave it open to discussion. :) Aquaslash 19:27, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Are you sure that she's not bluffing? Was she really 11? How could she have made a different alias? SmartyMaxMan 20:45, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
