MS

From Sonic Retro

Usefulness?

Do we really need a disambiguation page for this? "Sega Master System" is usually abbreviated as "SMS" and any instances of "Microsoft" as "MS" are likely too informal and should be changed to the full name. - SoNick 20:17, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Disambiguation pages aren't for links within the wiki. If you find a wikilink that leads to a disambiguation page, it must be changed to the relevant page if applicable. Disambiguation pages (and redirects) exist to help people easily find pages when searching via the search box, in case they enter a misspelled or generic search query. In this way, if an average internet user decides to look for "MS" he will find this page. Same with other disambiguations and redirects, really. You can question the usefulness of each of them, but the truth is that they're a great help at indexing, at the cost of mere hundreds of bytes. Nineko 22:13, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
I think typing MS in a wiki search engine would be really dumb.--MUser 13:59, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
