Super Special Sonic Search & Smash Squad is the first episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. After Sonic and Tails are captured by Scratch and Grounder, Sonic tells a story of his past. The opening features a large number of Badniks which are also in Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.

Story

The show opens with Sonic running and Tails attempting to keep up. They stop outside a city where Scratch and Grounder emerge and spring a trap which leaves Sonic and Tails hanging upside down. Sonic tries to get them to release them by reminiscing and telling them a story of how they all first met each other. It then cuts to a flashback. Sonic tells Scratch and Grounder how a group of robots try to capture him after Robotnik places a bounty on him. He defeats all the robots. The failure of these robots leads Robotnik to create Scratch and Grounder in hopes they will be the ones to capture Sonic. Grounder was intended to be an exact clone of Scratch despite them looking nothing alike. Another one of Robotnik's robots named Coconuts attempts to capture Sonic after he realizes the creation of these two may make him obsolete. All three fail in their attempts to permanently capture Sonic. Sonic and Tails escape after the story ends as Sonic does a Spin move to cut the arms which were holding them up.

Sonic Says Segment

Sonic teaches the importance of calling 911 for the appropriate reasons. The Sonic Says segment opens with Sonic and Tails surrounded by Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts. Tails asks Sonic to call 911 and he refrains. They simply dodge the assault and the scene cuts to a burning building. Sonic mentions how calling 911 at that moment could have prevented someone with a real emergency from getting assistance. He then lists what he perceives to be real emergencies.
