The Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure: Trial (体験版) is an abridged version of the Neo Geo Pocket Color game Sonic Pocket Adventure. It is a playable one zone demo that was sent to stores to entice customers into buying the full version. Not much is different between final except for some japanese language used. However, there are two teaser trailers included which are not in the final version.
Before the Sega logo appears some Japanese text scrolls by which translates to "Finally... A supersonic action game... on the Neo Geo Pocket". After the Sega logo is displayed another cutscene plays which introduces the main characters of the game Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. Lastly, a silhouette of Eggman appears followed by more text promoting the game.
The first dump of the game had problems playing sound during the intro video. On November 6, 2009, a new dump of this ROM was released by NGP PROJECT.[1] This dump appears to fix the sound problems in the opening cutscene. Comparing the two dumps reveals minor corruption in various locations of the ROM.
