The Japanese version flashes the copyright date in the bottom-right corner of the title screen. The North American version removes this, and instead displays the copyright date on a separate screen just before the title screen is displayed.

As well as a localised title, the title screen features different colours between versions. In the North American version, Sonic and Tails are noticeably darker, and the building in the background is more greenish with darker windows. Amy appears to have the least noticeable differences, if any.
