Tegaki Sonic (手描きソニック) is a 2D sidescroller platform game for mobile phones. The game features Sonic in a hand-drawn doodle style, reminiscent of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 concept art, defeating Badniks like Crabmeat as he advances his way though a drawn level. It was only available for the month of July 2010.

The title screen reads "Sonic the Hedgehog" (そにっく・ざ・へっじほっぐ) in Hiragana, handwritten phonetic Japanese, instead of of the more usual Katakana.

It was released a year later for the iPhone in the West as part of the free Sonic 20th Anniversary application, as a sub-game titled Sonic the Sketchhog. This version is not a time limited download.

Gameplay

The game plays very similarly to Sonic Runners with the sketchhog only going right at a fixed speed. Sonic also has the ability to double jump. As the player progresses through the stage the difficulty gets higher giving the player tricky jumps. In addition, there are Rings for the player to collect, which they will lose when being hit by a enemy or landing on spikes. From Hard mode onwards, there will be instant-death bottomless pits. Falling down or getting hit with 0 Rings will result in a Game Over.

Enemies

[[]] Chopper - Jumps up from the floor, spikes or pits.
[[]] Moto Bug - Drives along long areas of ground.

Difficulty

Easy: Distance used in 0 to 100m

Normal: Distance used in 100m to 500m

Hard: Distance used in 500m to 1100m

Very Hard: Distance used in 1100m to 1800m

Death: Distance used in <1800m

Scoring

Destroying enemies will award one point under the Ring counter. After a Game Over, the player's final score is tallied from the number enemies they have defeat, Rings they have collected and how many meters they ran.

Music and sound

The title screen's music is a music box cover of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I's title screen music. The music used during gameplay is a music box cover of Splash Hill Zone Act 1's theme, which plays faster once the player reaches Very Hard mode.
