Sega Ages: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (SEGA AGES ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ2) is a re-release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 developed by M2 as the tenth game of the Sega Ages lineup for the Nintendo Switch. It is yet to be released.
This re-release includes almost all of the features from 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2, including the "Ring Keeper" mode where the player starts each Act with 10 Rings and only loses half their Rings when hit, and the "Super Sonic" mode where the player starts with all seven Chaos Emeralds and 50 Rings.
In addition to the returning features, there are brand new ones. One such feature is the inclusion of the Drop Dash from Sonic Mania, which can be toggled on or off.
