Overlanders are characters appearing in the Archie Sonic comics. They are four fingered humans with ancestors who used to be the dominant species of Mobius when it was once Earth at least 3,000 years ago. They for awhile fought in a terrible war known as the Great War, trying to fight off the mutated creatures that were formed due to genetic bombs used as weapons by alien invaders known as the Xorda. These creatures the overlanders fought were actually animals who when mutated due to the gene bombs got a great amount of human DNA and transformed into anthromorophic creatures. They are now the dominant species of Mobius and for awhile were the mortal enemies of Overlanders.
