MobianLegends is a Canadian Sonic fansite, founded by Ringtailed Fox on October 13, 2008, and based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. It was formerly partially-hosted by Digibase Operations (with the remainder at Provo, Utah-based Hostmonster.com), but is now in the process of moving to a full dedicated server at Lansing, Michigan-based CoreNetworks. The website originally started off as a home to host the fanfic series "Mobian Legends", written by Rozene Kitsune and Ringtailed Fox, but has since grown to include many other areas of the Sonic Fandom as well.
MobianLegends is a "Classic Sonic" fansite, focusing on the first five Sonic the Hedgehog Games for the Sega Mega Drive and Sega CD/Mega-CD (Sonic the Hedgehog), Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, Sonic Spinball, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic & Knuckles, as well as information on the old "SatAM" Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon show. Completing the website are areas like the Wiki (WikiMobius), "goodies download", comics reviews, and Sonic the Hedgehog themes for Microsoft Windows, Winamp, and Linux.
Perhaps the biggest portions of the website is its media area: encompassing over 18 GB of audio files, of nearly EVERY single Sonic the Hedgehog music CD that has been released. One particular part of the media area is well-known: VOM-FM. The format broadcasts chiptunes and the webmaster's favourite classic rock and new wave music. Other stations in the process of being added include VOR-FM (industrial metal), and VOS-AM (Voice of Sonic AM), a low-bitrate (~ 16 kbps) all-Sonic-music format station.
One further extension of the media area that is being proposed is an internet TV station, VOM-TV, which would air classic Sonic cartoon episodes and other material, similar to Random Sonic Net's "RSN-TV" feed.
The website is not strictly Sonic the Hedgehog-only, as it also hosts a Star Fox fansite, Lylat Central.
