Game Preview - Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a four page preview for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in the December 1992 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly.

Even though the magazine must have the final version of the game as it was reviewed in this same issue the level names are wrong. Emerald Hill Zone is labeled Green Hill Zone. Aquatic Ruins Zone is labeled Neo Green Hill Zone. Mystic Cave Zone is named Dust Hill Zone. The levels had these names in earlier prototypes.

There is also a mention of Sonic the Hedgehog CD, although it is called Sonic the Hedgehog 2 CD in the article. It also shows the mockups of Hidden Palace Zone and Dust Hill Zone and mentions that Sega told them Hidden Palace Zone was removed.
