U.S. Advertisements

"Blast Processing" Commercial

A commercial for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 not only triumphing the introduction of Miles "Tails" Prower and the spin dash, but also uses the three main catchphrases of 90's Sega advertising - the Sega scream, "Welcome To The Next Level," and the first use of the infamous buzzwords "blast processing."

Mock Infomercial

A commercial using the familiar tropes of late night infomercials to advertise an offer where, if you purchase a Sega Mega Drive that comes bundled with Sonic the Hedgehog, you can get a free copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Japanese Advertisements

"Welcome To Sonic Land!"

A full thirty-second spot utilizing traditional hand-drawn animation placed over sets of the Emerald Hill Zone and the Chemical Plant Zone created specifically for the commercial.

Who Is Tails?

A fifteen-second spot quizzing viewers on the identity of Sonic the Hedgehog's new friend in the game.

Sonic Panic!

A ten minute video looking at the development of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 featuring interviews with those involved with the game, including Yuji Naka. The feature was a bonus for those who had preordered the game in Japan.
