Unlike the 1207 prototype, the 1227 build has implemented times of day, although the palettes aren't all final and all share the same music track. While there are now signposts in the initial area, they are not animated. At night, the lights on act like their indoor counterparts.

More palette problems when selecting a level, and the gap for Metal Sonic is fully visible.

Keep going right and you'll be presented with a "NPC Select" screen. Mighty, "Tails" and Espio don't get icons.

World Entrance, level 1, which in the final game triggers the Metal Sonic boss fight, sees the characters spin around for eternity in a broken version of the level. The background palettes flash and the Chaotix World music track plays.

Levels 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are much the same as in the 1207 prototype, only there aren't any objects and the player never stops spinning.
