- Back to: Chaotix (prototype 1207)/Comparisons.
While Amazing Arena can be played from beginning to end, it is clearly unfinished and can only be accessed from the stage select menu. While objects exist, Badniks do not, and you can only turn the lights on in the first level.
Most objects use their "lights on" palettes regardless of whether the lights are actually on, and in the morning, sunset or night versions of the stage, these object palettes are always wrong.
Combi rings become detached from characters while riding lifts. In the final the idle animations never trigger during these segments, with characters always remaining standing.
Conveyor belts work even with the lights turned off. Parts are also animated.
Shields and combi-ring sparkles are drawn on top of the tubes.
The prototype doesn't care if you haven't turned the lights on. In the final, it berates you with a "No Clear: Challenge Again!!" message.
Level 1
Level 1 contains the only light switch in the prototype.
But if you enter an exit a bonus stage, the lights will go off again. The animated palettes remain active, however.
Level 1's sub-boss exists, but the music doesn't change when it's on-screen. Its head does not come off, its arms just flail around in circles, it and cannot be defeated, so you're forced to wait until the sequence finishes to get by. Others levels are missing theirs.
The camera locks for the signpost too early, meaning the player can go off screen.
Level 2
While the clock is there, the light switch is not.
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
No boss for Amazing Arena yet. The cutscene plays but Eggman never appears.
