Chaotix (prototype 0111)/Comparisons/Special Stage

From Sonic Retro

Back to: Chaotix (prototype 0111)/Comparisons.

There are now both objects and (some) sound effects in the Special Stage, and all but the last can be completed legimtimately. The final stage is still pointing to the first from the level select.

Enter from the stage select and you're given 99 rings. It is 200 in the final.

The first stage is using its final colour scheme now, but because the screen resolution is still higher, there is noticeable slowdown when too many objects are on-screen. There is still no demand for blue spheres.

The second stage still wants three blue spheres for its first section, but actually gives you the means of collecting some. The second half has no rings however, so while the level can be beaten, it's easier to time out than the final.

The third stage has X Bumpers but nothing else.

The fourth stage is empty, so other than minor palette changes is identical to 1229.

The fifth stage is also empty, and is again identical to 1229 save for minor palette changes.

But the sixth stage has rings and objects, at least in the first half.

However, it is still not possible to beat the sixth stage normally, this time due to a lack of spring balls in the second half.
