The Chao Walker[1] (チャオウォーカー[3]) is a combat mech that appears in the two-player battle mode in Sonic Adventure 2. Tails created this mech for the Chao to fight, but it's rumoured that they don't know how to drive it very well.[2]
Dr. Eggman has created the Dark equivalent of the Chao Walker, known as the Dark Chao Walker.

Overview
The Chao Walker is styled after the Chao themselves, with the main body consisting of a Chao head with all of the Chao's limbs attached to it and a pair of half-closed eyes. The Chao Walker can be unlocked for the shooting battles in the multiplayer mode of Sonic Adventure 2 by getting an A-Rank on all of Tails' missions in the regular game. In Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and the 2012 re-release, the Chao Walker is immediately available from the beginning.
In terms of combat ability in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, the Chao Walker is the fastest of all combat mechs (excluding Tails when he uses the Tornado costume for his Cyclone), allowing it to easily dodge attacks as well as deliver its own, and can use special attacks for fewer Rings than other mechs.[1] However, these pros are offset by its cons: it has very weak defense, and its attacks are far weaker. The Chao Walker also uses Omochao for its punch attack.
The Chao Walker also appeared in Sonic Runners as an equippable Buddy. It was an S Rare Speed Type Buddy that would allow Buddies to absorb Rings for a small amount of time every 200 combo, and was awarded for every 10 Daily Battle win streaks.
Special attacks
The following are the special attacks used by the Chao Walker in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle's multiplayer mode:
Rings | Special attack | Effect |
---|---|---|
15 | Booming Missile | Fires many Homing Missiles simultaneously. However, it fires fewer Homing Missiles than other characters. |
30 | Rumble Launcher | Fires multiple rockets upwards. |
45 | Zap Laser | Fires a super-size laser from the front. Lasts 25% longer than other characters. |
